Coka-cola, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Orange Crunch, Cream Soda, Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Nestea… These are just a few of the many soft drinks on the shelf that I am sure you love to drink. However, is there really any reason to be drinking these aside from their addictive taste? The fact is, soft drinks are nothing but sugar, and over the course of time, they will be the leading cause as to why you’re not losing weight. Let’s take a look.

After checking out a few websites, the only thing that they have to say is how much sugar is in pop. There is no real nutritional value behind the sugary substance. Sure, they might say that there is a small percentage of protein. But that isn’t enough protein for your daily intake. Not only that, but you’re consuming a whack load of sugar a long with it.
In an average can of coke (12oz or 355mL), there is 39g of sugar. That’s approximately 9tsp (tablespoons) of sugar. Have one of these every day for a year, and that’s 26lbs of fat all on its own. Give it up, and that’s 26lbs less of what you need to worry about while trying to lose weight.
The next two sizes sit at 65g of sugar for the 20oz (590mL) bottle and a 1L (34oz) bottle sits at 108g of sugar.
“Well I drink diet pop because it has 0 sugar.”
Diet pop may have zero sugar, however, the drink al
one is a chemical concoction that makes you crave carbs (carbohydrates) in the end. This is caused by the aspartame.
The fact is, if you want to lose weight and exercise is just not cutting it. You need to watch what’s going into your body first. You can exercise all day long and burn off some of those extra calories. But if you go home and consume a glass of pop, then say goodbye to all the effort you’ve just put in over the last hour.
Now I am not saying don’t go to the gym. But if you are looking for some answers as to why you are not losing the weight, even though you run everyday. The first culprit is sugar, and coke is nothing but sugar.
My recommendation, stick with water! It hydrates, it’s all natural and has no added sugar.
